Symphonic Ecology Project
World Wide Soundscapes
~
This project was developed by the Edinburgh based sound artist Teddy Hunter who's work evolves around researching sounds and their interaction with the environment as well as the organisms in and around it.
The Symphonic Ecology Project is a project where anyone can take part; being open to everyone around the world. The idea is to capture what our environments sound like (a soundscape) at a given time.
These times are based on the Seasons (GMT/EST) on each of these date at 12 Midday in your time zone where ever you are in the world you will record 2 minutes of your outside soundscape. The seasons in the southern and northern hemisphere will not be the same but we can think of it as a clock whereby all the countries will be in different stages of the season.
The dates are:
Spring / Autumn April 13th 2016
Summer/ Winter 20th June 2016
Autumn / Spring 22nd September 2016
Winter / Summer 21st December 2016
These sounds will then be used in a final installation in 2017
